Citibank in Fountain Valley Robbed

Police say a man robbed the Citibank on Brookhurst Street about 4:49 p.m. Friday and fled with an unknown amount of cash.

A man robbed the Citibank in Fountain Valley Friday afternoon and escaped with an undisclosed amount of money, police reported.

The robbery occurred about 4:49 p.m. at the bank located at 17400 Brookhurst St., according to Fountain Valley police Lt. Matt Sheppard.

"The suspect entered the bank and gave the teller a hold-up note demanding money," Sheppard said in a released statement. "The bank teller handed the suspect an undisclosed amount of currency, and the suspect fled out of the bank."

The suspect was last seen running south through the bank parking lot. He is described as a white male, standing 5 feet 10 inches tall, between 35-40 years- old, with long long brown messy hair. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and dark jeans, with tattoos on both arms and his face.

Anyone who may have witnessed the bank robbery is asked to call the Fountain Valley Police Department at 714-593-4485.
