Guitar Center Reports More Than $2,000 Worth of Guitars Missing

Police reports from around Fountain Valley.

Theft from a vehicle was reported from Toucan Avenue, Nov. 8 at 8:10 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) entered the unlocked vehicle, parked on a driveway, and took a wallet valued at $25 from the center console storage unit, before fleeing undetected.

Theft from a vehicle was reported from the recreation center on Brookhurst Street near Heil Avenue, Nov. 7 at 1:10 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) took an iPhone and various pieces of clothing from the center console area. No signs of forced entry were reported and the victim claimed that she may have forgotten to lock the vehicle. Property loss was estimated at $475.

Battery was reported from Flamingo Avenue, Nov. 6 at 7:55 p.m. The victim reported that an ex-boyfriend had beaten up her current boyfriend and fled before police arrival. No charges were made.

A gray 1991 Honda Accord was reported stolen on Verbena Court, Nov. 6 at 11:32 a.m. The vehicle, described to have a spoiler, an unpainted metal hood and orange stickers around the license plate frame, was last seen at 4 p.m. the day before.

Vandalism was reported from Verrent Mobile on Brookhurst Street near Talbert Avenue, Nov. 6 at 8:41 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) broke the front glass door and ransacked the business before fleeing undetected and causing estimated damage of $500. No property loss was reported.

Theft from a vehicle was reported on Flamingo Avenue, Nov. 6 at 12:20 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) entered the vehicle through unknown means and removed $250 worth of property before fleeing undetected.

Theft was reported from Sam’s Club on Brookhurst Street near Warner Avenue, Nov. 5 at 11:13 p.m. The suspect was first seen casing the liquor isle before emptying out a wine box, filling it with eight Johnny Walker scotch bottles and running out with the liquor through the rear door, where he fled in an awaiting vehicle, which was last seen traveling southbound on Brookhurst Street. Estimated property loss was $199.92.

Two guitars were reported stolen from Guitar Center on Euclid Avenue, Nov. 3 at 1:21 p.m. During an inventory check, an employee discovered the instruments missing and believes it was stolen within the past two months since the last inventory check. Property loss was estimated at $2,304.

Theft from a vehicle was reported on Lassen Street, Nov. 3 at 8:53 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) entered the vehicle through unknown means and took $680 worth of property, including a wireless headset and the rear seat, before fleeing undetected.

Theft was reported from Courtyard on Slater Avenue near Brookhurst Street, Nov. 3 at 6:55 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) entered the room through the side sliding door and fled undetected with the $1,400 laptop.

Theft was reported from Garfield Avenue, Nov. 2 at 4:06 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) took $360 out of a wallet, which had been place in a rear closet of the business. The victim said that the only people who had access to the area were the owner and a new employee, who never returned for work the next day.

Theft from a vehicle was reported on Onyx Court, Nov. 2 at 10:44 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) gained entry from the opened sunroof and fled undetected with $315 worth of property.

Theft was reported from La Alameda Avenue, Nov. 1 at 2:09 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) entered the elder care home and took $1,300 worth of property from the victim’s closet before fleeing undetected. The victim believes the crime was committed between August to October and said there have been numerous individuals who had access to her room during that time period.

Theft from Public Storage was reported on West MacArthur Boulevard, Nov. 1 at 2:09 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) entered lot R11, used a prying tool to pry open the sides of a storage door and fled undetected with $1,120 worth of property. Damage was estimated at $20.
