Fountain Valley High School Theater will be performing the Mel Brooks’ musical comedy “Young Frankenstein” in the high school’s outdoor theater this month. This hilarious musical comedy is a wickedly inspired re-imagining of the Frankenstein legend based on Mel Brooks’ film masterpiece. The story's setting is 1934 -- in a Transylvania locale stolen from Dracula and fused, humorously, with the Swiss Alps –and lends itself to a bit of operetta and vaudeville and a lot of old Broadway and old Hollywood. 'Young Frankenstein' has the distinction of being one of those few comedies which can be just as funny for those who have never seen the source material that's being spoofed and still offers plenty of humor for those who have. “Young Frankenstein” will be performed in the outdoor theater of Fountain Valley High School on April 3, 4, 5, 9, 10 and 11th. For ticket information and purchase please go to www.fvhstheatre.com. Fountain Valley High School is located at 17816 Bushard St. Fountain Valley, CA 92708.
