Community Corner

Green Feast at The Ecology Center!

On Saturday, September 7, 2013, Green Feast will welcome over two-hundred ticketed supporters, 16+ regional chefs, and numerous purveyors for an evening of delicious food, friendly competition, live music, and local food education.

The al fresco evening begins with an Eco App Off, in which Orange County's most notable chefs come together in friendly competetion to create hors d'oeuvres for the 200+ guests. As a celebration of local and sustainable food, all ingredients used are sourced within a 250-mile radius of The Ecology Center. With hors d'oeuvres and drinks in hand, guests meander the gardens, enjoy live folk music and community. As the sun sets, guests join together around a long communal table (set in front of a 26 acre working organic farm) to enjoy a family-stye, four-course dinner. As the dinner progresses, hear from participating notable chefs, organic farmers, ranchers, fisherman, winemakers, bakers, and cheesemakers involved in the creation of the meal.
