Great Escape: Fit to be Square 5K Run/Walk, Pet Prance, Health & Animal Expo

Participate in the Fun Run and support the Fountain Valley non-profit of your choice.

This weekend, let the kids and hubby sleep in late, and take a few minutes for yourself to participate in the Fit to be Square 5K Run/Walk at the Fountain Valley Sports Park.

On Feb. 19, the Fountain Valley Community Foundation and the City of Fountain Valley Recreation and Community Services Division is hosting its annual 5K Run/Walk. The course starts at the Fountain Valley Sports Park (16400 Brookhurst) and will take participants through Mile Square Park with its views of nature and lakes.

Every dollar and cent of the registration fees go toward supporting your choice of more than 20 Fountain Valley nonprofit organizations, including: Orange Coast Memorial Foundation, Fountain Valley High School sports programs and various Fountain Valley school PTA’s.

After you have run (or walked) the 5K, have the family meet you at the Sports Center for the after run events.  These include the 12 and under Challenge - a free obstacle course for the kids, an Animal and Health Expo featuring local businesses, and the Pet Prance Costume Contest for the family pet.  Pet Prance prizes will be awarded in three categories:  Most Unusual, Best Team, and Funniest costume.
