Orange Coast Memorial Partners with Boys & Girls Club to Educate Kids About Exercise and Nutrition

The two have previously partnered to teach kids about smoking and other health issues as part of the club's health literacy assembly program.

Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center recently announced its partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Huntington Valley to help educate its served communities about the importance of proper nutrition and physical activity for children.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Huntington Valley’s health literacy assemblies have covered countless health topics such as dental health, diabetes, and how to choose friends more wisely. Most recently, Dr. Jack Jacoub, a medical oncologist and hematologist at the MemorialCare Cancer Institute at Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center, was the keynote speaker for the presentation to teach children the health risks associated with smoking.

“We are excited to partner with our friends at The Boys & Girls Clubs of Huntington Valley because we are both committed to improving the health of our children,” said Marcia Manker, CEO at Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center. “By working together to educate parents and their children about proper nutrition and physical activity, I am confident that we can have a positive impact on their lives for years to come.”
