Facebook 'Likes' Bring Donations to FV Disabled Dances

Every time someone new clicks "Like" on the Fountain Valley Community Foundation's Facebook page, $2 will be donated to the city advisory committee for the disabled.

The Fountain Valley Community Foundation has promised to donate $2 for every "like" it gets on its Facebook page -- up to $500 -- to support the city's Disabled Dance program.

The dances, hosted by the city's advisory committee for the disabled, are held every other month at the Fountain Valley Recreation Center.

The foundation wants to support the program through 2013, and $500 would pay for a DJ for an entire year, according to a city news release.

According to Mark Nix, city community services manager, $2 will be donated for each like beyond the page's existing 420 to 430 likes.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the page had climbed to 514 likes, which translates to at least $168 to help pay for the dances.
