Mark Wood and the Parrot Head Band bring their Jimmy Buffett tribute to the finale of Fountain Valley's summer concert series.

Parrotheads young and old will converge Thursday night on the Fountain Valley Recreation Center and Sports Park as the city's summer concert series wraps up in tropical style with Jimmy Buffett tribute act Mark Wood and the Parrot Head Band.

The evening's events will begin at 5 p.m., with the Chamber of Commerce's . The concert will begin at 6 p.m. Both events are free to the public.

Wood has been playing Buffett's songs as a solo artist for more than 40 years. He formed the band in the late 1990s with help from renowned zydeco musician Doug Legacy. The band's steel drummer was taught to play by Robert Greenridge, who plays the same instrument for the Coral Reefers, Buffett's band.

Mark Wood and the Parrot Head Band has played all over Southern California, Florida and the Caribbean, including a chance to play as the opening act for Buffett himself at a concert in Irvine.

After the show, the , winners of battle of the bands, will perfrom from 8:30 to 10 p.m.
