Famous & Infamous Sea Dogs

Yo Ho Ho a PIRATE’S life for me!  ExplorOcean/Newport Harbor Nautical Museum’s PIRATE’S WEEKEND adventure continues with the famous and infamous Sea Dogs throughout history.  Step into the lives of pirates like, Anne Bonny who is known for her fierce, courageous temper and fiery disposition, Sir Francis Drake, a well-known hero to the English and a PIRATE to the Spaniards and the most feared and despised PIRATE of all time…Blackbeard!

Four-legged PIRATES wanted!  Dress your pup up in PIRATE gear and “Walk the Plank” down the board walk for the ‘Puppy Pirate Parade’.   Visitors can also create their own Jolly Rogers, learn the in’s and out’s about compass and sexton reading and engage with ‘PIRATE interactors’ throughout the galleries.  Inside the galleries be sure to take a glimpse of the Museum’s vast ship model collection in our Steele Model Pavilion.  Experience these hands-on activities on the second day of our PIRATE Weekend adventure at 11am on the waterfront in the Balboa Fun Zone.  Get in the spirit and come in costume - each child dressed in PIRATE attire receives FREE admission all weekend-long!  All activates are free with admission to our Sea of Adventure gallery, so bring the entire family down!
