Give your pets some extra love with these Fountain Valley pet supply bargains.

Now that the children are back to school, it’s time to lavish a little attention on the other kids in your house—your pets! To help you treat your pets in style and still have plenty of moola left over, here are some of the best pet supply deals around town:

1. Pet Supply prides itself on superior everyday pricing, but also has weekly deals and specials across your pet spectrum. This week, it recommends fresh, frozen bones as a great hot weather, cool-down treat for your pooch. Bones are $3.99 each or get a 9-pound pack for $10. It also has 20-pound bags of milo-free wild birdseed for $8.99 (milo is just filler that birds can’t eat, so the milo-free birdseed is the best value for you and the birds.)

2. PetSmart welcomes fall with 20 percent off all Halloween-themed pet costumes and, its Halloween-themed pet toys are $2.99 to $3.99. It also has a sale with 20 percent off super-stylish Martha Stewart pet beds and feeding items.

3. Prehistoric Pets specializes in reptiles and amphibians, and it is known as the place to go for feeders of all types. Crickets are 25 for $2, feeder mice are $1.19 each and tasty mealworms are $1.49 per portion. It also has a 10-gallon reptile starter kit and aquarium for $109.

4. PETCO in nearby Huntington Beach has a special this week on Nutro dog treats—two boxes for $9.98. For the kitty in your family, donut cat beds in a rainbow of colors are $7.99.

5. Tong's Tropical Fish has the popular Fluval Chi starter aquarium kit, complete with filter and light for $69.99. It also has a variety of goldfish bowls and beta fish containers from $3.99 to $24.99 and aquarium rocks of every shade and color starting at $6.99.
