Garden Grove Walmart Now Hiring 200 Employees

A temporary hiring center has been opened in Garden Grove while approximately 200 positions are filled for the new Walmart coming to town.

Approximately 200 positions are now being filled for a new Walmart that's set to open in Garden Grove, store representatives announced this week.

The store, which is set to open this winter, will be located at the corner of Chapman Avenue and Gilbert Street, at the former site of Costco.

Since renovations are being done to the building, the hiring center will be located off-site, at 12880 Beach Blvd., at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Garden Grove Avenue.  Representatives tell Patch that there are a total of about 200 full and part-time positions to fill.

“I look forward to interviewing potential associates and to training new associates and management on Walmart’s recent innovations and programs,” said store manager Randy Harmon.

Applications will be accepted Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the hiring center.   Interested applicants may also apply online  at http://careers.walmart.com

Most of the hired will begin work in December, to help prepare the store for its grand opening.  The exact date of the opening has not yet been released.

The average wage for a full-time employee is $13.03, according to a news release from the company.

The Garden Grove Walmart will be 107,000 square-feet and will feature general merchandise areas, including a full-service pharmacy, apparel and accessories, sporting goods, electronics, home, fine jewelry, and health and beauty, as well as a full line of groceries with a bakery, a delicatessen, a frozen food section and meat, dairy and fresh produce sections.
