On Wednesday, the Fountain Valley City Council joined Yakult President and CEO Michio Shimizu and other Yakult executives at a groundbreaking ceremony for the probiotic drink company’s first U.S. manufacturing plant.
The project consists of three buildings, including a 76,828-square-foot manufacturing plant, a single-story 11,221-square-foot office building and a future 10,716-square-foot storage building on the former Three Star Nursery site at 17235 Newhope St. The company plans to have about 150 employees at its new location.
