Elderly Fountain Valley Woman Succumbs After Being Struck by Vehicle

Hue Thi Dinh, 89, was struck by a vehicle after allegedly stumbling into the street at Warner Ave on Feb. 10. The investigation is ongoing.

An 89-year-old female who was struck by a vehicle on Feb. 10 has died, according to Fountain Valley police Sgt. Kurt Ulrich.

The victim has been identified as Hue Thi Dinh. The accident occurred at about 12:30 p.m. in the 11600 block of Warner Ave. Officers arrived and found Dinh unresponsive. She was transported to UCI Medical Center with traumatic injuries, but eventually succumbed to those injuries Feb. 18.

Fountain Valley police said the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and stated that the victim stumbled into the roadway. The driver is cooperating with the investigation.

“It does not appear that she was in a crosswalk,” Ulrich said. “The vehicle at this point does not appear to be at fault.”
