Local Boy Scout Troop to Hold 40th Anniversary Dinner

Event takes places July 1 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fountain Valley.

Fountain Valley Boy Scouts Troop 412 will hold a 40th anniversary Court of Honor celebration July 1.

According to organizers, the event will run from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Doyle Hall in Holy Spirit Catholic Church at 17270 Ward Street in Fountain Valley. The catered dinner will feature beef or chicken faijitas.

Since it began about 40 years ago, the group has had 88 Eagle Scouts, according to a release from the troop.  In the past 12 months, Troop 412, which has 66 members, has recorded:

  • 1,177 service hours
  • 565 camping nights
  • 224 outings individual scouts have participated in
  • 873 hiking miles

The troop has also earned the Boy Scout “Journey to Excellence” Gold award for being a highly active Troop and the highest level of the BSA Ready & Prepared Award for the 7th consecutive year
