Mendoza Arraignment Postponed to Sept. 2

He's accused of sending nude photos of himself to three Fountain Valley minors ages 11, 15 and 17 in an effort to seduce them.

The arraignment of an Orange man accused of trying to seduce three Fountain Valley minors and sending them nude photos of himself in 2010 was postponed Thursday in Santa Ana.

Miguel Antonio Mendoza, 20, met the three alleged victims through an online cell phone application and began sending them nude pictures of himself starting in August 2010, authorities say. He is also accused of requesting that the three send nude pictures of themselves to him.

Authorities say that on Aug. 29 of last year, Mendoza arranged to meet the 11-year-old alleged victim at 7-Eleven on Warner Avenue in Fountain Valley with the intention of engaging in sex acts. Authorities say the girl's mother discovered text messages and photos from Mendoza on her son's phone before the meeting was to take place and called Fountain Valley police, who arrested Mendoza when he arrived at the 7-Eleven.

Initially, Mendoza was charged only in connection with the alleged contact with the 11-year-old, but pictures of the other two minors were discovered on Mendoza's cell phone, and when they were identified, additional charges were filed, authorities say.

Mendoza is free on $250,000 bond. His arraignment has been rescheduled for Sept. 2.
