Sections of 2 Fountain Valley Roads Getting Makeover

Expect some delays.

By the end of summer, parts of two local roads will have a whole new look, city staff say.

The city was scheduled to begin renovating Magnolia Street from Talbert to Warner and Slater Avenue from Newland Street to Magnolia this month.

Crews will replace the top two inches of asphalt with a new layer and will replace curbs, gutters, sidewalks and ADA compliant curb ramps.

Fountain Valley employees expect to complete construction mid-August. Work hours are weekdays 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and lane closures will take place 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There will be no work on holidays.

“As with any major construction project, expect long traffic delays and temporary lane closures,” reads a statement from the city’s Public Works Department. “Motorists are highly encouraged to use alternate routes during peak travel time.”
