Autumn Goes on Hiatus

Temperatures in the low 90s will sizzle Fountain Valley this week.

Weather fit for shorts and bikinis returns this week, along with light Santa Ana winds and clear skies.

After a relatively mild Columbus Day, temperatures will climb into the low 90s Wednesday and Thursday, with 100 degrees forecast for some inland Orange County areas. The strongest winds will gust between 25 and 30 mph, blowing clouds out of the area, according to the National Weather Service.

In Fountain Valley, the high on Tuesday will be 82 degrees, followed by 91 on Wednesday and 90 Thursday.

The high-pressure system bringing hot weather to Southern California will weaken Friday, dialing down nature's thermostat. Mountains and deserts, however, will remain quite warm, forecasters said.
