Community Corner

3rd Annual Challenger Cheerleading Camp

On Saturday, August 2, 2014 from 9am
to 1pm, children with special needs are invited to attend the challenger
cheerleading camp. Sponsored by the Orange Empire Conference (OEC), the
Challenger Sports Program is a non-competitive camp as no score is kept.  The cheer program is offered to children who
have special needs, who live in Huntington Beach and surrounding communities
and are between the ages of 5 and 21. Located at Huntington Beach Edison High
School (21400 Magnolia Street Huntington Beach, CA 92646), each session
consists of a cheer routine, a cheer dance and a cheer pep rally. Currently, there
are a total of eleven Challenger Programs in OEC. The cheerleaders have
participated in the OEC Cheer Competition for the past three years. Participation
in the Challenger Division is permitted at the request of the individual's
parent or guardian. Additional information is available at www.popwarneroec.com.
