Former NFL Running Back Deshaun Foster to Host 3rd Annual Challenger Flag Football Camp
On Saturday, August 2, 2014 from 9am
to 1pm, former NFL Carolina Panthers Running Back Deshaun Foster will be
hosting the Challenger flag football camp. Foster, who attended Tustin High
School and UCLA, has been supporting this camp for more than three years. Sponsored by the Orange Empire Conference
(OEC), the Challenger Sports Program is a non-competitive camp as no score is
kept. The program is offered to children
who have special needs, who live in Huntington Beach and surrounding
communities and are between the ages of 5 and 21. The sessions will consist of
running, throwing, receiving, defense and kicking. Currently, there are a total
of eleven Challenger Programs in OEC. The games are modeled after a typical Pop
Warner game with warm-ups, coin toss, etc. Participation in the Challenger Division is permitted at the request of
the individual's parent or guardian. Located at Huntington Beach Edison High
School (21400 Magnolia Street Huntington Beach, CA 92646), the camp will also
have a photo session and lunch. The mission of the Challenger Sports Program is
to provide exercise, athletics and an opportunity for community-based
socialization for children with special needs. Additional information is available
