Outer Worlds of the Outer Solar System

Where is the best place to find life beyond earth?  It may be the small ice-covered moons on Jupiter or Saturn, where some of the most habitable real estate is in our Solar System.  Join us to explore how life loves liquid water and these moons have lots of it!

Focusing on Jupiter’s moon Europa, a top priority for future NASA missions, Kevin shows how the exploration of Earth’s ocean is helping our understanding of potential habitability of these worlds.

Kevin is Deputy Chief Scientist of Solar System Exploration at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, he also served as a scientist onboard James Cameron’s 2012 dive to the bottom of the Mariana Trench.  He has made nine dives to the bottom of the ocean.  In 2011 he was selected as National Geographic Emerging Explorer.  Join us as we explore the ocean worlds of the outer solar system.
