Families Pay Tribute to Lost Children at Annual Event

The largest crowd in recent memory make the Unforgettables Foundation's annual Light for Little Lives walk.

As people around the world prepared to turn the calendar for the new year, a group of people in Loma Linda took time to remember.

The Unforgettables Foundation’s annual Lights for Little Lives walk allowed families to remember the children that have been lost in the past.

Organizers called it one of the biggest turnouts in the 14 years the event has made the walk from the Ronald McDonald House to the Campus Hill Church. Awards are given to some of the area’s top doctors. This year’s honorees were Richard Chinnock, John Mace and Paul Reiman. The Riverside Kiwanis “Friend of Children” Award was presented to Ben Orozco.

At the church, the names of children lost during the past year were read, and families proceeded to the stage to say the name of the loved one who they were honoring at the event.

The Unforgettables Foundation, which is based in Redlands, helps families with funeral expenses and emotional support in the wake of the death of a child, from the unborn up to the age of 18. The foundation serves San Bernardino, Riverside and Orange counties, with chapters in Palm Desert and Orange County.
