Roger Jensen, 75, who was the co-chair of the annual Fountain Valley Classic Car Show, died Monday at home.
"We will miss Roger," Fountain Valley City Council member Larry Crandall said. "He was so kind and attentive to his wife, mother-in-law and friends. Fountain Valley benefitted from his volunteer efforts, including his favorite, the Fountain Valley Car Show."
In addition to his work on the car show, Jensen was known for his other community service efforts, including his work helping to feed those less fortunate during the holidays. Jensen's wife, Michele, is a member of the Fountain Valley Planning Commission.
"On behalf of everyone at the Fountain Valley Community Foundation, I would like to pass on our deepest sympathies to the family of Roger Jensen who passed away [Monday] night," said Glenn Grandis, president of the Fountain Valley Community Foundation, in a post on the Foundation's Facebook page. "Roger was a big part of the FV Community Foundation as co-chair along with Pete Haak of the FV Car Show. This fun event has raised a huge sum of money for our organization. It was Roger's dedication to this event that allows the Foundation to support so many wonderful programs in our city. I know that I will personally miss Roger and I know that all of us at the FV Community Foundation board have expressed similar sentiments."
Services for Jensen will be held July 14 at 11 a.m., and King of Glory Lutheran Church, 10280 Slater Ave.
