2 Juveniles Arrested on Suspicion of Vandalism with BB Pistols

Police briefs from around Fountain Valley.

Two juvenile suspects were arrested on suspicion of felony vandalism and felony projecting objects at vehicles with BB pistols, Aug. 30 at 5:42 p.m. The two suspects were identified after four vehicles, traveling on Ellis Avenue near Magnolia Street, were hit by the BB pellets. Further investigation revealed three other vehicle vandalisms in the Tiburon housing tract near Adobe River Avenue were also committed by the same suspects. Although major damages were caused by the BB pellets, including shattered windows and paint and vehicle body damage, none of the victims reported any physical injuries. The two suspects were later released to their parents.

Vandalism was reported on Finch Avenue at Moiola School, Aug. 29 at 6:55 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) used blue spray paint and wrote “714,” lines and illustrations on multiple walls around the school. Damage was estimated at $400.

Theft was reported from Smardan Supply Co., on Mount Herrmann Street, Aug. 29 at 8:07 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) climbed the business's fence to gain access to the lot, and used an unknown tool to drill two small half-inch holes at the bottom of a vehicle’s gas tank. The suspect(s) fled undetected with $100 worth of gasoline, causing estimated damage of $2,000. At 8:29 a.m., Community Action Partnership on Mount Wynne Circle reported the same crime committed in the same fashion. The suspect(s) caused $5,000 worth of damage and took $130 worth of gasoline.

Vandalism was reported from The Storage Place on Mount Langley Street, Aug. 27 at 9:42 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) cut a hole in the business's fence, but no property was reported missing. Damage was estimated at $200.

Theft from vehicle was reported on La Rosa Lane, Aug. 27 at 8:56 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) entered the secured vehicle by smashing the front passenger window and removed $1,500 worth of property. Damage was estimated at $150.

Theft from vehicle was reported on Modoc Street, Aug. 25 at 3:54 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) smashed the front passenger window to remove a purse from the floorboard and fled undetected. The victim was informed by her bank that two charges, totaling $140, were made at an Exxon gas station in Costa Mesa.

Theft from vehicle was reported on Talbert Avenue and Brookhurst Street near LA Fitness, Aug. 25 at 3:35 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) smashed the front right passenger window and fled undetected with a backpack. Damage was estimated at $300.

Theft from a vehicle was reported on Flamingo Avenue, Aug. 20 at 10:25 p.m. Surveillance camera caught an unknown suspect(s) removing property from the victim’s truck bed and fleeing in northbound on Jacaranda Street in a vehicle. A few hours later, the suspect returned to the scene with a second suspect, removed additional property and again, fled on Jacaranda Street with a total of $1,197 worth of property.
