Arrest Made in Hit-and-Run of Motorcyclist

A 75-year-old Huntington Beach man is booked on suspicion of crashing into a female motorcyclist in Fountain Valley and fleeing the scene.

A 75-year-old Huntington Beach man was arrested on suspicion of hitting a motorcyclist and fleeing the scene Wednesday, according to the Fountain Valley Police Department.

The accident occurred about 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Talbert Avenue and Mt. Washington Street.

The driver of the car reportedly left before officers arrived, police said.

At the scene, officers found an injured female motorcyclist and called paramedics, who took the woman to a local hospital with a leg injury.

She had been heading west on Talbert when the car turned left in front of her and she smashed into it, police said. She was thrown onto the sidewalk.

Huntington Beach resident Douglas Jenan, 75, was found a short distance from the scene and arrested on suspicion of felony hit and run, police said.

Preliminary investigations said alcohol and drugs weren't a factor in the collision.

Witnesses to the collision are asked to contact the department at 714-593-4484.
