BREAKING NEWS: Man Charged in Machete Attack Enters Plea in Court

Michael Calvin Shores and two others were arrested in connection with an attack that nearly killed a man in Fountain Valley.

One of three defendants prosecuted for a 2009 machete attack that nearly killed a man in Fountain Valley has pleaded guilty to attempted murder and several other charges.

Michael Calvin Shores II, 43, has been sentenced to 14 years in prison. But because he also waived his credits for time served in jail awaiting trial, his total time in custody will amount to nearly 19 years.
