Coronor Identifies Pedestrian Fatally Hit Friday Evening

Reina Guadalupe Soloria, 59, was fatally struck by a sport utility vehicle in Fountain Valley.

The Coroner's Office Saturday identified a 59-year-old woman who was fatally struck by a sport utility vehicle in Fountain Valley.

Reina Guadalupe Soloria crossed the roadway of Heil Avenue, west of Harbor Boulevard and outside a marked crosswalk when she was struck by a white Honda Pilot driven by a 65-year-old man going westbound on Heil Avenue, according to a department statement.

Fountain Valley police were dispatched to the scene about 6 p.m. Friday. Paramedics rushed Soloria to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where she was
pronounced dead at 8:34 p.m., according to the Coroner's Office.

Police said a preliminary investigation did not show that alcohol or drugs contributed to the crash.
