Police in Fountain Valley are urging drivers to remember to lock their car doors when parking their vehicles, as some residents have recently found themselves victims of burglaries.
- Police say sometime between Sunday, Feb. 10 at 3 p.m. and Monday, Feb. 11 at 5 a.m., a suspect forced open the front passenger door of a Dodge Ram parked on Lilac Avenue, west of Harbor Boulevard, and stole tools that were inside the truck and utility box.
- On Monday, Feb. 11 around 4 p.m., an unknown suspect opened the driver's side door of a Honda Accord parked in the 18000 block of Brookhurst Street at Tracy Nails Spa. The victim told police a diamond bracelet was stolen from the covered cigarette lighter compartment. Police say the victim said the car was locked. There were no signs of forced entry.
- Police say sometime between Monday, Feb. 11 at 11 p.m. and Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 8 a.m., an unknown suspect damaged the lock of a Chevy Tahoe parked at The Haven Apartments on Slater Avenue. According to police, the rear seats were stolen from the car.
- On Tuesday, Feb. 12 about 5:30 p.m. a suspect punched the driver side lock of a Chevy Silverado parked in front of Sports Authority on Warner Avenue. According to police, the suspect opened the car door and stole a backpack. The victim did not know if he had locked the car.
