Easter Holiday Marred by Rash of Vehicle Burglaries

The thefts occurred in the early morning hours Sunday, mostly from unlocked cars.

A string of burglaries from cars on the western edge of Fountain Valley were reported early Sunday morning, Fountain Valley Police officials reported Monday.

The burglaries, which occurred in the reporting district borded by Slater Avenue, Warner Avenue, Newland Street and Magnolia Avenue, apparently targeted unlocked cars. Police believe the suspects wandered the tract looking for unlocked cars.

Police advised the public to lock their cars and to remove gym bags, backpacks, and valuables from plain sight. The public was also advised to report people loitering around parked vehicles in their housing tracts or places of business, especially during the night.
