Elderly Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Huntington Beach

An 89-year-old Huntington Beach man was fatally struck by a car while walking across Hamilton Avenue, police say.

An 89-year-old pedestrian struck by a car in Huntington Beach Friday died at the scene, authorities said.

The Huntington Beach man, whose name was not immediately released, was walking across Hamilton Avenue, just west of Via Straits Lane, when he was struck by a Ford Focus about 10:20 a.m., Huntington Beach police Sgt. Jon Haught said.

The driver was questioned by police, but has not been arrested or cited.

Anyone who saw the collision was asked to call police at 714-536-5666.
