The Fountain Valley Police Department was honored this week by Special Olympics Southern California as the top fundraiser in the region among law enforcement agencies.
The department raised more than $18,000 through its Torch Run and other programs, and Capt. Mike Simko serves on the Regional Leadership Council for Special Olympics Orange County.
