Girl Ejected From Minivan During Crash

The 8-year-old girl suffered traumatic, but non life-threatening injuries, according to police.

An 8-year-old girl was thrown from a minivan early today when it collided with another vehicle in an intersection, Fountain Valley Police reported.

The accident was reported about 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of Warner and Bushard avenues, Sgt. Steve DeSantis said in a released statement. The accident occurred when a Toyota Camry entered the intersection from westbound Warner Avenue and collided with a white Ford Aerostar minivan, that entered the intersection from southbound Bushard Avenue.

The girl was transported to UCI Medical Center with traumatic, but non-life threatening injuries. It was unknown whether the girl was wearing a seatbelt.

The people in both cars -- which included two more children-- were transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. Alcohol or drugs did not appear to have contributed to the collision, DeSantis said.
