An 8-year-old girl was thrown from a minivan early today when it collided with another vehicle in an intersection, Fountain Valley Police reported.
The accident was reported about 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of Warner and Bushard avenues, Sgt. Steve DeSantis said in a released statement. The accident occurred when a Toyota Camry entered the intersection from westbound Warner Avenue and collided with a white Ford Aerostar minivan, that entered the intersection from southbound Bushard Avenue.
The girl was transported to UCI Medical Center with traumatic, but non-life threatening injuries. It was unknown whether the girl was wearing a seatbelt.
The people in both cars -- which included two more children-- were transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. Alcohol or drugs did not appear to have contributed to the collision, DeSantis said.
Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call the Fountain Valley Police Department at 714-593-4484.
