Local Man Convicted of Molesting Teen at Huntington Beach

A 57-year-old Stanton man was convicted today of molesting a 14-year-old boy he met through Craigslist and sexually assaulted in Huntington Beach.

Mark Aime Brosseau was convicted of lewd acts on a child, contacting a child with the intent to commit lewd acts, and meeting a child with the intent to engage in lewd conduct, Deputy District Attorney Bobby Taghavi.

Brosseau met the boy online in June 2010, Taghavi said. The victim testified that the defendant molested him several times leading up to Brosseau's arrest on Sept. 25, 2010, Taghavi said.

Brosseau sexually assaulted the boy while the two were parked in the defendant's pickup truck in a parking structure at Bella Terra Mall in Huntington Beach, Taghavi said.

Huntington Beach police officers were suspicious of the vehicle and when the they contacted Brosseau he had his pants down, Taghavi said.

Brosseau, who testified during the trial, denied he had his pants down and that he was just a friend of the boy's, Taghavi said.

Brosseau is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 24. He faces up to five years and four months in prison.
