Local Man Reports Gun Stolen from Vehicle

Police reports from around Fountain Valley.

A $725 gun was reported stolen from a vehicle on Brookhurst Street near Heil Avenue, Dec. 24 at 12:43 p.m. The victim had left his vehicle locked near the tennis courts and upon returning, noticed a slight dent mark near the keyhole of the front passenger door and the firearm missing. No witnesses were located.

A $3,000 bicycle was reported stolen in front of Grocery Outlet on Magnolia Street near Slater Avenue, Dec. 28. Unknown suspect(s) used a lock-cutting tool to remove the property and fled undetected.

Theft from a vehicle was reported from George's Burger on Euclid Street near Newhope Street, Dec. 27 at 10:03 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) took approximately $2,000 worth of property from the bed of a work truck before fleeing undetected.

Theft from a vehicle was reported on San Bruno Street, Dec. 27 at 8:14 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) jimmied the driver's side door and ransacked the interior before fleeing with $10 worth of property, including the vehicle's registration, insurance card and a pair of sunglasses.

Vehicle vandalism was reported from Lilac Avenue and Harbor Boulevard, Dec. 25 at 9:26 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) entered the unlocked vehicle and attempted to defeat the ignition mechanism with a screw driver, but failed and fled undetected. Damage was estimated at $87.

Vehicle vandalism was reported from Iris Avenue, Dec. 24 at 8:38 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) slashed a total of five tires, leaving estimated damage of $300, before fleeing undetected. The victim claimed that this incident was not the first time her vehicles have been vandalized in the past five years. However, she was still unable to give a description of possible suspects.

Residential burglary was reported on Snowdrop Avenue, Dec. 23 at 2:46 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) removed $75 worth of property before fleeing undetected. Damage to a sliding glass door was estimated at $250.

Theft from a vehicle was reported on Nightingale Avenue, Dec. 22 at 9:57 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) gained entry into the unlocked vehicle, parked on a driveway, and took a backpack containing $1,050 worth of property before fleeing undetected.

Forgery was reported on Magnolia Street near Warner Avenue, Dec. 21 at 5:23 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) obtained a check book during a residential burglary and cashed a check for $55 at a US Bank later during the day. No witnesses were located.

Theft from a vehicle was reported from Cardinal Avenue, Dec. 21 at 11:19 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) gained access into the vehicle through unknown means, ransacked the glove compartment and took $73 worth of property before fleeing undetected.

Theft from a vehicle was reported from Santa Lauretta Circle, Dec.21 at 10:16 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) gained access into the vehicle through unknown means and took a $250 GPS from the dash before fleeing undetected.
