Local Man Reports Gas Siphoned from Truck

Police briefs from around Fountain Valley.

A man reported $70 worth of gasoline siphoned from his 1995 Ford F-350 on Amistad Street, Aug. 15 at 7:56 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) broke off the gas cap from the dual gas tank and fled undetected with more than 14 gallons of gasoline.

A $840 laptop was reported stolen from a parked and locked vehicle near LA Fitness on Talbert Avenue near Brookhurst Street, Aug. 16 at 5:46 p.m.

Attempted vehicle burglary was reported on Warner Avenue and Euclid Street, Aug. 14 at 12:07 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) smashed the right rear passenger window the gain entry and from the inside, had ripped out the ignition cover and manipulated the ignition in an attempt to start the car. Damage was estimated at $1,500.

Theft from a residential garage was reported on Los Caballos Court, Aug. 14 at 7:18 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) gained entry after a family member had forgotten to close the door and fled undetected with $1,000 worth of property.

A $49 beach cruiser was reported missing in front of a residence on Santa Isabel Street, Aug. 12 at 3:25 p.m. No suspect(s) were seen or heard.

Theft was reported from Mobil gas station on Brookhurst Street and Warner Avenue, Aug. 12 at 9:24 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) broke off the lock from an air and water machine in the southwest corner of the business and took $116.50 worth of quarters before fleeing undetected. Damage was estimated at $100.

Theft was reported from Tan Hoang Bakery on Euclid Street and Edinger Avenue, Aug. 12 at 4:33 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) smashed the business's glass door and took two plastic donation boxes containing $100 from the counter before fleeing undetected. Damage was estimated at $500.

A $300 catalytic converter was reported missing while parked in front of a leasing office on La Alameda Avenue, Aug. 11 at 2:49 p.m. No suspect(s) were seen or heard.

A $200 spare tire was reported missing from a Ford F-150 on Azalea Avenue, Aug. 11 at 12:06 p.m. No suspect(s) were seen or heard.
