Local Man Reports Vehicle Vandalism Containing Anti-Semitic Messages

Police briefs from around Fountain Valley.

Vehicle vandalism was reported from Indian River Court, Aug. 22 at 11:59 a.m. The victim found anti-Semitic symbols and threatening statements written on the car, and said that a few weeks prior, threatening notes and a doll with the same symbol was left nearby. No suspect(s) were seen or heard.

Theft from a vehicle was reported on San Jacinto Circle, Aug. 21 at 6:14 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) gained entry into the locked vehicle through unknown means and removed $200 worth of property, including a DVD player and monitors and various items from the glove compartment. No suspect(s) were seen or heard.

Vehicle vandalism was reported on Santa Maria Street, Aug. 21 at 5:10 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) punched the driver’s side door cylinder lock, causing estimated damage of $250. No property loss was reported.

Theft from a vehicle was reported on La Hacienda Avenue, Aug. 21 at 9:14 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) gained entry by inserting an unknown tool to unlock the door and removed $190 worth of property. No suspect(s) were seen or heard.

Vehicle vandalism was reported on Calle Independencia Avenue, Aug. 21 at 12:48 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) smashed the driver’s side window, causing an estimated $200 worth of damage, but no entry was made. No suspect(s) were seen or heard.

Identity theft was reported on Santa Barbara Street, Aug. 20 at 9:21 a.m. The victim had applied for a loan at a bank when she was informed of two outstanding loans totaling over $100,000 from 2008, neither of which she said she had applied for. No suspect(s) have been identified.

Graffiti was reported on Brookhurst Street and Talbert Avenue, Aug. 20 at 3:41 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) wrote “Kill Cops” in blue spray paint throughout the back parking lot of the shopping center near Elite Educational Institute. Damage was estimated at $200. No suspect(s) were seen or heard.

An attempted theft from a vehicle was reported on San Alfredo Circle, Aug. 18 at 12:30 p.m. The vehicle owner noticed damage on the passenger door handle and on the vehicle fuel entry port. Investigators believe unknown suspect(s) attempted to enter the vehicle and tried to siphon gasoline, but did not accomplish either and fled undetected. Damage was estimated at $400.

California Elwyn reported theft from the business on Mount Baldy Circle, Aug. 18 at 11:22 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) cut a three-foot hole in the chain-link fence on the backside of the business and crawled through to take $45 worth of folded cardboard, which had been left unsecured on the property with other recyclable items. Damage was estimated at $350, and no suspect(s) were seen or heard.

Theft from a vehicle was reported on Juniper Street, Aug. 17 at 5:29 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) gained entry into the unlocked vehicle and took $400 worth of property before fleeing undetected.

A $100 bicycle was reported missing from a residential backyard on La Burnum Lane, Aug. 17 at 11:28 a.m. The bike was one of four locked on the property. No suspect(s) were seen or heard.

Theft from a vehicle was reported on San Mateo Street, Aug. 17 at 7:38 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) gained entry by removing a window with a prying tool and removed a $599 CD/DVD player from the dash. No suspect(s) were seen or heard.

A $840 was reported missing from a vehicle parked near LA Fitness on Brookhurst Street and Talbert Avenue, Aug. 16 at 5:46 p.m. No suspect(s) were seen or heard.
