Smashed Front Window, Skylight Give Burglars Access to Local Businesses

Police reports from around Fountain Valley.

Commercial burglary was reported at Allure Salon on Warner Avenue near Bushard Street, Jan. 8 at 7:05 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) gained entry into the business after hours by smashing the front window and, once inside, stole $945 worth of cosmetology products before fleeing undetected. Damage was estimated at $500.

Theft was reported at A Cleaning Service on Marten River Circle, Jan. 9 at 8:17 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) gained access to the roof and removed a skylight awning before fleeing undetected. No entry was made into the business.

Vehicle theft was reported on Jan. 9 at 4:52 a.m. The 2001 Chevy truck was last seen near Harbor Boulevard and Brighton River.

Theft from a vehicle was reported on Newhope Street near Slater Avenue, Jan. 9 at 8:15 a.m. The victim had parked his vehicle near his business when unknown suspect(s) removed the left rear tire and placed two pieces of wood underneath the axle before fleeing undetected. Property loss was estimated at $50.

Grand theft was reported on Slater Avenue near Los Alamos Street, Jan. 8 at 1:29 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) cut a storage locker padlock and once inside, removed over $1,000 worth of property before fleeing undetected. Damage was estimated at $20.

Vehicle vandalism was reported on Primose Avenue, Jan 8 at 10:06 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) used an unknown tool to smash the driver's window before fleeing undetected. Damage was estimated at $200.

Vehicle vandalism was reported on Cache Street, Jan. 8 at 8:53 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) shot pellets, damaging the driver's side window and the front windshield before fleeing undetected.

Graffiti was reported on Mount Olancha Street and Jade Court, Jan. 7 at 3:13 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) used black and white spray paint to write "JERRY" and "TFK" on the curb and a street sign before fleeing undetected. Damage was estimated at $500.

Theft from a vehicle was reported on Diamond Court, Jan. 6 at 9:12 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) slashed the left rear tire while the vehicle was parked in the housing complex. Damage was estimated at $300. No witnesses were reported.

Graffiti was reported on Edinger Avenue near Iris Avenue, Jan. 5 at 7:28 p.m. Witnesses reported seeing an unknown suspect with black spray paint to write on a residential wall before fleeing undetected. Damage was estimated at $200.
