VIDEO: Elderly Man Falls During Sobriety Test After Crashing Car Into 7-Eleven

The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI after being taken to the hospital

A 76-year-old man was hospitalized Wednesday night after crashing his car into a Fountain Valley 7-Eleven.

The accident happened around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, when the William Dornbos crashed his Lexus sedan into the store, located in the 16400 block of Harbor Boulevard, near Heil Avenue, Fountain Valley police Sgt. Steve DeSantis said.

Dornbos fell down at the scene as police were preparing to give him a field sobriety test, injuring himself. He suffered unknown injuries and was taken to the hospital, where officers condcuted further sobriety tests and arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence. He was cited and released into the custody of the hospital.
