Man Found Walking Around Covered in Blood

The 22-year-old man found covered in blood is now suspected for murder, authorities said.

A 22-year-old man seen walking while covered in blood in Huntington Beach was behind bars today on suspicion of murder.

Rito Tejeda of Santa Ana, who was being held in Huntington Beach's jail, was booked on suspicion of murder after investigators detained and questioned him Wednesday, Lt. Mitch O'Brien said.

Police were called about 11 a.m. Wednesday when someone saw a blood- soaked man walking down the street near Nashville Avenue and Delaware Street, O'Brien said.

Officers took the suspect to an area hospital, where he was questioned.

A blood trail and other evidence led investigators to an apartment at 1411 Delaware St. where officers found the body of a man, O'Brien said.
