Man Killed in Westminster Crash is Identified

Authorities say it was a 62-year-old man who struck a big rig on Jan. 20.

A 62-year-old man from Garden Grove who was killed in Westminster when his car crossed to the wrong side of the street and struck a parked big rig was identified today by the Orange County coroner's office.

Tung Nguyen died at the scene, according to authorities. His crash into the 18-wheeler took place around 8 p.m. Monday in the 5700 block of Garden Grove Boulevard, Westminster police Cpl. Eddie Esqueda said.

Nguyen's Toyota Avalon was travelling westbound and crossed over into the eastbound lanes, where it struck the big rig, Esqueda said.

No one was in the big rig at the time of the crash and no other injuries were reported, Esqueda said.
