Marijuana Left During Vehicle Tampering

Police briefs from around Fountain Valley.

A caller reported assault at a bus stop on Harbor Boulevard and Lilac Avenue when a man in a flannel shirt and white jacket was seen striking a woman with his fist, Feb. 21 at 3:28 p.m. Police were unable to locate the suspect.

A person reported vehicle tampering when unknown suspect(s) used an unknown object to break the front right passenger window of a car on Los Jardines West near Masuda Middle School, Feb. 20 at 8:10 p.m. No property was reported stolen, but before fleeing the unknown suspect(s) left a pink prescription bottle containing marijuana on the arm rest of the front right passenger door.

Two pairs of sunglasses worth $950 were reported stolen from the center console of a locked Lexus IS 250, Feb. 20 at 10:49 a.m. The unknown suspect(s) gained entry after breaking the front passenger window, causing estimated damages of $1,000.

A man reported audio equipment worth $1,200 stolen from his 2007 Ford Ranger on San Mateo Street, Feb. 18 at 9:41 p.m. The vehicle had been parked and locked in a carport when unknown suspect(s) used a knife to cut the driver side window weather stripping and remove the window. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $100.
