More Than $3,000 in Property Reported Stolen From Hotel Room

Police briefs from around Fountain Valley.

Theft was reported from Marriott Courtyard Inn on Slater Avenue and Brookhurst Street, July 5 at 11:01 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) entered the room while the guest was away and fled undetected with $3,155 worth of personal property.

Vandalism was reported on Harbor Boulevard and Heil Avenue, July 5 at 9:42 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) pried open two large United States Postal Service mail boxes, which gave access to 14 individual mail slots. Damage was estimated at $250.

A resident on Everest Circle reported unknown suspect(s) had thrown a brick through his bedroom window on July 5 at 2:36 a.m. Damage was estimated at $100.

Vandalism was reported from a residence on Reimer Street, July 4 at 8:08 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) covered the home with toilet paper and dumped barbecue sauce and soil from the front porch’s potted plants into the victim’s vehicle through open windows. The victim was an elderly woman who said she did not know who could have committed the crime. Damage was estimated at $300.

Vehicle vandalism was reported on Sierra Street, July 3 at 1:38 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) scratched and dented various parts of the car, including cracking the windshield, causing an estimated $3,000 worth of damage.

A resident from Nightingale Avenue reported stolen tags from her vehicle’s license plate, July 2 at 10:30 a.m. She noticed the missing sticker after leaving Target on Adams Avenue and Brookhurst Street in the city of Huntington Beach. 

Arrest
A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication on Warner Avenue near San Mateo Street, July 8 at 6:08 p.m. and was released on a citation.
