Daring Laptop Robbery Reported at Office Depot

Police reports from around Fountain Valley.

Theft was reported at Office Depot on Brookhurst Street near Talbert Avenue, Jan. 16 at 7:42 p.m. The suspect was seen walking to the computer display aisle, cutting the cable attached to a $999.97 computer and running out of the business with the property under his jacket.

Theft from a vehicle was reported on Sandstone Avenue near Northcutt Elementary School, Jan. 17 at 5:16 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) removed a $3,000 catalytic converter before fleeing undetected.

Theft was reported at Costco on Newhope Street, Jan. 17 at 8:49 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) took a $2,000 pressure washer from an unlocked storage facility before fleeing undetected.

Two thefts from a vehicle was reported on Stilbite Avenue, Jan. 15 at 3:54 p.m. and 4:19 p.m. In both incidences the vehicles were parked on a residential drive way when unknown suspect(s) used a projectile to damage the vehicle before fleeing undetected. Damages estimated at $400 and $1,000. 

Two vehicle vandalisms were reported near Los Jardines East and Slater Avenue, Jan. 15 at 9:41 a.m. and 9:49 a.m. In both incidences the vehicles were parked on the side of a street when unknown suspect(s), possibly on foot, used an unknown tool to break off a side view mirror before fleeing undetected. Damages were estimated at $300.

Theft from a vehicle was reported on Markham Street, Jan. 15 at 8:07 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) entered the unlocked vehicle and took a $1,600 laptop before fleeing undetected.

Two reports of vehicle break-ins was reported at In Focus Optometry on Warner Avenue. On Jan. 14 at 10:28 a.m., unknown suspect(s) used a projectile to shatter a window. On Jan. 15 at 12:03 a.m., unknown suspect(s) smashed the right rear passenger window and removed a purse from the rear floorboard and a backpack from the front passenger floorboard. Estimated property loss was $1,415 and damage was estimated at $200. 

Residential burglary was reported on Dahlia Circle, Jan. 12 at 6:50 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) used a ceramic chip to break the rear sliding glass door and once inside, removed $675 worth of property before fleeing undetected. Damage was estimated at $600.
