Local Resident Reports Burglary and $25,500 Worth of Valuables Missing

Police reports from around Fountain Valley.

Residential burglary was reported on San Rafael St., Feb. 16, at 8:45 p.m. Unknown suspects entered victim’s residence, possibly through a broken garage door, removed unspecified personal property and fled the scene undetected. Total value of the loss was estimated at $25,500.

Vehicle tampering reported at the San Mateo Apartments, Feb. 16, at 9:30 p.m. Unknown suspects unlocked driver’s door with an unknown tool, then attempted to pry steering wheel/ignition compartment away from steering column. Unknown suspect(s) fled the scene undetected, causing estimated damage of $2,000.

Vehicle burglary was reported on Brookhurst Street, Feb. 16, at 5:58 p.m. Passenger window was smashed and several items were taken, valued at $180. Unknown suspect(s) fled the scene undetected in an unknown direction. Damaged to the vehicle estimated at $200.

Residential burglary was reported at La Fonda Circle, Feb. 17, at 2:15 p.m. Victim reported locking her home and went to work. Upon her return she saw her bedroom ransacked and several items missing. Value of the items was unknown.

Vehicle burglary was reported at Mt. Nimbus, Feb. 18, at 9 p.m. Victim reportedly parked his vehicle in the driveway, locked the doors, and rolled up the windows prior to leaving. Upon returning the next morning the driver’s side window was smashed and unknown suspect(s) removed a GPS unit that was mounted to the front windshield. Estimated loss: $300.

Vehicle burglary and fraudulent use of access card was reported on Talbert Ave., Feb. 17, at 1:45 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) using an unknown tool smashed the front passenger’s side window and reported property before fleeing the scene undetected. The victim’s credit card was used in three stores in three unknown cities, but all charges were declined. Property damage was estimated at $300, and value of loss was $12.

Burglary was reported at a commercial building on Warner Ave., Feb. 21, at 3 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) reportedly entered the business and were inside for approximately 3 minutes. Item was valued at $76.96.
