Murder Investigation Underway After Body Is Found In Costa Mesa

A man's body was discovered Monday in front of an empty Costa Mesa building, police said.

A man was found dead Monday in Costa Mesa, and police opened a homicide investigation, a lieutenant said.

Costa Mesa police were called at 11:10 a.m. about a body found at 536 Hamilton St. in front of an uninhabited building, Costa Mesa police Lt. Greg Scott said. A drug and alcohol rehabilitation center had been at the location, but has since moved.

Detectives are investigating the death as a homicide, Scott said.

The man's name, age and cause of death were not immediately released.
