Shots Fired, Multiple Vehicle, Identity Thefts Reported

Police briefs from around Fountain Valley.

Police responded to a report of shots fired April 15 on Harbor Boulevard. Eight or nine shots were heard, but officers were unable to locate a suspect.

Theft from a vehicle was reported April 15 on Warner Avenue. Unknown suspects broke the window of a 2001 Mercedes ML430 and stole property valued at $400. Damage to the car was estimated at $250.

Identity theft was reported April 16 on Smoketree Avenue. A Fountain Valley man reported that his adopted brother took his debit card and used it to make several unauthorized purchases.

Vehicle burglary was reported April 12 on Slater Avenue. Unknown suspects smashed the window of a 2001 Honda Accord, but did not enter the car or steal any property.

Vehicle tampering was reported April 12 on Berg River Circle. Unknown suspects broke the window of a 1992 Toyota Previa, but did not enter the car or steal any property.

Vehicle burglary was reported April 12 on Calle Independencia. Unknown suspects broke the window of a 2004 Chevy Caprice Classic, but did not enter the car or steal any property.

Identity theft was reported April 14 on Mount Fletcher Circle. Unknown suspects stole the victim's mail and attempted to make multiple purchases using the victim's account information.
