Home Burglary Suspects Arrested After Witnesses Call Cops

A man and woman were arrested Friday in connection with home burglaries in Fountain Valley and Newport Beach after witnesses reported suspicious activity, police reported.

At about 11:30 a.m. residents in the 8500 block of Trinity River Circle in Fountain Valley called police to report suspicious activity. Fountain Valley police Lt. Matt Sheppard said responding officers confirmed a home burglary had just taken place at a home on Trinity River Circle.

"After FVPD units arrived on scene they broadcast the suspect vehicle description county-wide," Sheppard said in a released statement.

Orange County Sheriff's deputies located the suspect vehicle and detained the two occupants, Robert Tarantino and Ariana Nelson, Sheppard said.

"Investigation confirmed the two subjects were responsible for the residential burglary..These suspects were also responsible for several incidents in the City of Newport Beach," Sheppard said. "This case was solved because witnesses immediately reported the incident to the police department."

Tarantino and Nelson were arrested for burglary and booked into the Orange County jail.

The stolen property was returned to the home owner in Fountain Valley.
