Police: More Fountain Valley Homes Burglarized

Three homes burglaries, and one attempted burglary, were reported over the weekend in Fountain Valley.

Burglars have targeted several homes in Fountain Valley, and police are urging residents to take precautions.

On Sunday about 3:30am, the Fountain Valley police responded to an attempted residential burglary in the 10600 block of El Silbido. Police say the suspect tried to enter the home through a rear sliding door, but fled when the resident turned on the lights inside the house.

The resident waited 15 minutes before calling 911, police said.

Officers located three more home burglaries in the same area while they canvassed the neighborhood. Police say in each one of the burglaries, the suspects entered the homes through an unlocked door or window while the residents were inside sleeping.

This weekend's burglaries were similar to the ones reported last month in Fountain Valley on El Picador, El Gorra and Ash Street. In those cases, one home burglary and six attempted home burglaries occurred while the residents were asleep.
