DUI Checkpoint Set for Sept. 21

The Fountain Valley Police Department will hold a DUI/Driver's License checkpoint from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. that night.

Over the past three years, DUI collisions have caused 83 injury crashes, harming 107 people in Fountain Valley, according to the FVPD.
The penalty for a DUI conviction can include a fine of $10,000, time in jail, the loss of a driver’s license and increased insurance rates.

Funding for the operation is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
