Residential Burglary Reports Nearly Triple for February

Reports of vehicle burglaries and stolen vehicles were also on the rise.

Fountain Valley residents reported 22 residential burglaries during February, up from just eight reported in Janauary, according to Crime Watch statistics released Tuesday by the Fountain Valley Police Department.

Vehicle burglaries were also up last month with 25 reported, up from 20 in January, and 11 vehicles were reported stolen, up from seven in January. The only category in which reports were down was commercial burglary with five, down from nine in January.

Coyote sightings were down slightly with 10 reported, down from 13 in January. Of the sightings reported, two involved mutiple coyotes.
