Traffic Control Device Reported Stolen from City Street

Police briefs from around Fountain Valley.

A $10,000 traffic control device was reported stolen from Magnolia Street, south of Edinger Avenue, May 23 at 5:15 p.m. Investigators believe unknown suspect(s) may have towed away the device with a large vehicle. No evidence was recovered.

A postal package containing $239.95 worth of merchandise was reported stolen from the front porch of a residence on Plumas Court, May 24 at 10:59 p.m. 

A purse valued at $1,257 was reported stolen from a shopping cart at 99 Ranch Market on Magnolia Street and Talbert Avenue, May 22 at 3:31 p.m. The woman believes the suspect may have been following her around market before taking the purse when she was not looking. Surveillance cameras captured the suspect exiting the store with the purse, but his location after was unknown.

Residential burglary was reported on Fallenleaf Circle, May 22 at 3:06 p.m. The residents suspect that the crime occurred the night before during a party because $3,550 worth of cash and electronics belonging to the residents and other party guests were discovered missing after. The unknown suspect(s) fled undetected.

Theft from a vehicle was reported from a parking lot on Talbert Avenue near Brookhurst Street, May 22 at 1:35 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) gained entry by defeating the driver's side door lock and fled undetected with $1,460 worth of property, including a briefcase and items obtained from the center console.

Residential burglary was reported on Mount Waterman Street, May 22 at 12:01 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) gained entry through the unlocked rear sliding door and fled undetected with $8,775 worth of jewelry retrieved from the master bedroom.

Theft from a vehicle was reported in a residential neighborhood on Flicker Avenue, May 19 at 6:24 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) gained entry by breaking the driver's side window and fled undetected with $100 worth of used clothing and a purse. Damage was estimated at $350.

Theft from a vehicle was reported from the Costco parking lot on Newhope Street and Talbert Avenue, May 18 at 10:03 p.m. While the vehicle owner was shopping, unknown suspect(s) gained entry into the unlocked vehicle and retrieved two Fry's Electronics shopping bags containing $445.80 worth of electronics equipment and accessories from the front passenger seat before fleeing undetected.

Theft from a vehicle was reported on Talbert Avenue and Brookhurst Street at LA Fitness, May 18 at 5:14 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) gained entry into the vehicle by defeating the driver's side door lock and fled undetected with $110 worth of property. Damage was estimated at $380.

A woman reported waking up to a stranger standing in the main hallway of her residence on Mount Eden Street, May 18 at 12:19 p.m. The intruder saw the woman, ran out of the residence from the front door and fled in an unknown direction with $330 worth of property.
